Hire for up to five nights. Need longer?
It rains out here, sometimes a lot. Then there’s the wind: source of Three Capes landscape features such as Hurricane Heath and Tornado Flats. We’ve chosen jackets that are light enough to feel comfortable (and not sticky!) and roll into your pack neatly, but are most definitely waterproof and will keep out the fierce Tasman wind. Made from waterproof breathable three-layer Reflex fabric in men’s and women’s styles and sizes.

Perfect!!! We left wet weather gear to the last moment and received fantastic service in having coats delivered which we ended up wearing everyday as the weather was a little less than perfect.

Perfect – was worn by 10 year old daughter on two days mostly due to cold winds, but also second day hiking in rain.
Particularly wanted to say thank you for helping us out at such short notice, after the 10 year old grew about 3 inches in the month before we left!!

This jacket was terrific. We hired one for our fast growing 13 year old son. It was nice and long with great pockets. Came in very handy for showers on our last day.

I was so glad I ordered this- I was worried my own jacket might not be as good in wild weather- and we had a day of roaring forties wind and rain in which I stayed warm and dry- great jacket and lots of pockets to hold camera and snacks so no need to delve into my pack.

perfect! I’d buy one.

A great option to hire rather than buy and this jacket kept me as dry as possible in very wet conditions. Sizing is spot on. Highly recommend hiring this jacket as it also kept me warm on the windy parts of the walk.

I hired a jacket for my 12 year girl. Gail gave some advice re the sizing and the fit was perfect . Hiring is such a great option especially for children as they grow so fast and purchasing a jacket of this quality can be a big investment. I highly recommend Three Capes Gear & Gourmet.

I really liked my jacket. We didn’t have any rain on our walk but the jacket was light and comfortable and I wore it most of the time as wind protection I used the size chart and got the perfect fit. My jacket was even brand new as I had to cut the tags off.

An extremely comfortable jacket to wear. We often started out in the cool mornings with just shorts, t-shirt and the jacket and once warmed up could shed the jacket and we were right for the day.

I would highly recommend this rain jacket. We experienced rain, hail and very high winds during our hike, but I managed to stay completely dry and warm with this rain jacket. It was also very comfortable and has lots of large pockets which I used for snacks, tissues etc do I didn’t have to keep stopping to take my bag off. The hood has a visor so it shelters your whole face . The perfect way to try before you buy. I’m now saving my pennies to buy one of my own 😀

Thanks, Kelly; we love it too – it’s based on Gail’s favourite jacket – but for hire we chose them in red so they’d go faster …

Perfect for spring hiking

MacPac jackets are brilliant. We did not have rain whilst on the hike however strong cold wind. The jacket provides another layer of warmth and protects you from the wind. Jacket has many pockets, zip from top and bottom and folds away into the hood.
