Scrambled chocolate brownie

There are no ovens in Three Capes Track huts, but you only need a stove top (or camp cooker) and a frypan or small saucepan for this rich, scrambled-pudding dessert, which is our current family camping favourite. Delicious gooey chocolate, with strawberry sauce – what could possibly go wrong?

My birthday boy was a bit disappointed he wasn’t going to get cake on the day, but his feedback after this, was he wants this cake every year! A real hit! And SO easy.

  2. Lisa-Jane

The chocolate aroma while making this dessert aroused the curiousity of our fellow hikers and we ended up sharing it. We all agreed that this sweet moist chocolate dessert was a winner!

A chocolate brownie (each) was our chosen dessert for our first night fabulous dinner. So yummy and easy to prepare (bring a little bit a Kahlua) – Magic- Recommend

Deliciously chocolate and easy to make. Though like real scrambled egg it leaves the pan needing quite a scrub.

  5. Bianca Cannon

Finished product was more like a hot mousse, less cake like. Flavour was delicious, it did stick to the pan a little, you need to keep stiring towards the end. Dehydrated strawberries were hard to separate to make the sauce with the hot water.

While this looked and felt a little strange when preparing it in the pan, the result was delicious – so much dark chocolatey-berry goodness. We got desserts for every night of the hike and I’d definitely do that again. They were highlights at the end of the day, and we argued about which was our favourite and remained divided because they were all so good.
